Is CJA a debt management or debt settlement company?

No, CJA does not negotiate, settle or work with your creditors. CJA works directly with you or with a debt management company of your choice to provide additional resources and services to help you reach your goal as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Do I have to be enrolled in a DMP or Debt Settlement company to become a member?

NO, CJA helps YOU, the consumer in creating and achieving your goal to become debt free.

Is CJA a law firm?

No, CJA is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Should you need legal services for any potential FDCPA violations against your creditor, CJA will refer you to an attorney in your area through our partners network of attorneys

What is the FDCPA?

The Fair Debt Collections Practiced Act (FDCPA) is a US Statute of title VIII of the Consumer Credit Protection Act. The purposes of the act are to eliminate abusive practices in the collection of consumer debt and provide consumers with an avenue for disputing or validation debt information to endure its accuracy.

Where can I report a Debt Collector if I feel they violated the FDCPA?

You can report a debt collector to the office of your state attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission. Many States have their own debt collection laws and your state attorney general can help you determine your rights. You can also report any issues to CJA either online or by calling us.
